Content Strategy Intern

June - August 2022 • Miami, FL

What I liked

I liked the independence my manager gave me in doing my project for the summer. Also, despite being mostly remote, the company did a good job of offering sessions that all interns could attend and connect to (wellness, speaker sessions, educational sessions). Additionally, everyone I reached out to was friendly and were willing to engage in coffee chats, where I got to make many connections with professionals from different departments.

What I wish was different

The first few weeks were a bit slow because there was a lot of onboarding and learning about my team. I wish this process could somehow have been sped up. However, I will say a lot of this down time gave me opportunities to coffee chat with many people, so it depends how you look at this.

Advice

I would encourage everyone to network as much as possible with people! Additionally, attend as many sessions as you can to learn more about different departments and connect with people that way.

Client Tech Service Delivery Intern

June 2021 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I liked the team I worked with in particular my supervisor and mentor. They made me feel welcomed and acclimated as best as they could since it was a virtual internship. I felt like I had a place on the team and my feedback was valued and encouraged in many areas.

What I wish was different

I wish it was in person so I could get more hands-on experience .

Advice

One piece of advice is to communicate often with your team and make an effort to make a presence in meetings or by simply asking questions. This is especially important in a virtual environment because you don't have the face-to-face interactions and impressions to make with others.
