Heart Failure Faculty Physician

Heart Failure Faculty Physician. Wake Forest University Health Sciences. Winston-Salem, NC. Provide consultative service for advanced heart failure. Work in the Cardiovascular Medicine ambulatory clinic with a focus on cardiac transplantation, ventricular assist devices (VADs), and advanced heart failure. Attend inpatient services on Cardiac, Transplant, VAD, and Advanced Heart Failure. Perform and interpret diagnostic procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. Share night and weekend/holiday responsibilities with a focus on cardiac transplantation, VAD, and advanced heart failure as required for all cardiology faculty with clinical responsibilities. Teach medical students, house officers and other learners within the context of patient care. Participate in institutional medical conferences. Typical work hours are M-F 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. with some night and weekend responsibility. Attend inpatient service for 1 week every 4-5 weeks, including Saturday and Sunday coverage. May get patient calls at night. 

Requires a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited school of Medicine or foreign equivalent. Requires an Internal Medicine Residency. Requires a fellowship in Cardiology. Requires an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of North Carolina (Medical Board License) and DEA license. Must be Board Certified in the United States in Cardiovascular disease. All hires must submit to a drug screen and background check.
