Healthcare Administration Intern

Moon River Senior Care, in partnership with Moon River Nursing Careers, is offering an unpaid internship (12-15 hrs. a week). The student will have the opportunity to work with both our school that trains nursing assistants and the home care agency that provides care to older adults. Moon River Senior Care is located in Ashburn, VA. The Healthcare Administration Intern must be on site 12-15 hours per week. The schedule could include weekdays and/or weekends. This is an ideal opportunity for a student who wants to gain knowledge of the daily operations of a Nurse Assistant Training School and a Home Health agency. The Healthcare Administration Intern will learn about risk management, HR, and the importance of internal and external communication.

Our philosophy is to tailor each internship to draw on the passion and talents of the intern. If the internship is for a class, we can submit the necessary documentation for the student to get course credit. We can accept two interns each semester and will assign individual tasks as well as shared projects. The intern should have a genuine interest in improving the quality of life for older adults. Most of our clients are between 80 and 100 years of age. We are committed to high standards and have received awards for the quality of care we provide and for the positive work environment.

Tasks for the Healthcare Administration Intern may include, but are not limited to, the following:
a) Enrolling and tracking the progress of students enrolled at Moon River Nursing Careers and scheduling lab and clinical sessions
b) Assisting the HR Specialist with scheduling interviews, on-boarding, and orientation
c) Communications: Participate in various projects that support recruitment, retention, and recognition of employees
d) Respiratory Program: Work with the Director of Nursing to coordinate the respiratory program that includes arranging N-95 fit testing and training for all employees
e) Quality of Life for our clients: Be creative! Work with CEO on development and implementation of new initiatives that will improve the quality of life for our clients.

This is a great opportunity for students with the following career paths:
Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Marketing, Program Coordination, Public Health, Public Relations or Social Work, but we will consider other majors.

If you like a position that offers an opportunity for personal and professional growth, this internship presents a unique opportunity with hands-on experience for a student who is motivated to learn.
