Research Assistant Grant Program

Primary Job Responsibilities: The Research Assistant is responsible for the data collection and data entry activities of grant programs in accordance with grant requirements. This includes meeting with consumers and administering standardized questionnaire items; recording consumer responses within the questionnaire; and entering results into electronic data collection systems (SPARS and NextGen).
Special Working Conditions: May work after 5 or occasionally weekends to fulfill needs of the program and clients. Travel required.
Other Necessary Skills/Special Training:
  • Extremely proficient with Internet-based data entry and electronic records systems
  • Ability to effectively use supplied tracking/monitoring tools to follow-up with staff and participants regarding data deficiencies.
  • Strong critical-thinking/problem-solving skills
  • Proven conflict management/resolution skills
  • Strong presentation development skills
  • Proven relationship-building, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Strong computer skills knowledge and experience with excel, PowerPoint and webinar software.
Job Requirements/Education/Training: This position requires a high school diploma, with preference for a Bachelor of Arts/Sciences degree in Health Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or other human service field. Work experience will be considered in lieu of educational experience as applicable/allowed by grant requirements. Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in health care, substance abuse, mental health and/or social service agency settings working with clients with multiple social, psychological, substance abuse and/or HIV related problems. Experience working in a research setting is preferred.
