Private Equity Analyst


Job Description:
The Analyst will work on teams led by a Managing Director or Principal. They will interact directly with all members of the firm but will typically report to an Associate or Senior Associate. The responsibilities of the Analyst are broad and involve many aspects of private equity investing. They will be expected to take an active role in the analysis and modeling of prospective investment opportunities and monitoring of portfolio investments. The Analyst must possess highly advanced financial and data analysis skills consistent with and complementary to Roark’s highly analytical approach to investment evaluation and long-term, growth-oriented investment strategy. The Analyst will be expected to support deal teams in many aspects of the investment process including due diligence, modeling, data analysis, and industry research. They will prepare materials for and participate in meetings of Roark’s Investment Committee. The Analyst will also be directly involved in portfolio management, including monitoring the performance of existing portfolio companies, interacting with portfolio company management teams on specific initiatives, and evaluating potential add-on acquisitions. They will also be expected to prepare detailed industry research and assist senior Roark investment professionals in developing investment strategies for new investment verticals that are consistent with Roark’s investment criteria.

Qualifications:
The Analyst is expected to have outstanding academic credentials, preferably with a concentration in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a major evidencing strong quantitative ability. This person should have strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills. The Analyst is expected to have an exceptional work ethic, strong analytical capabilities, and excellent writing and research skills. This person must be focused, energetic, and highly motivated. They must be a self-starter with a positive, “can do” attitude who regards no task as too big or too small for them. The Analyst should be able to manage their responsibilities with minimal supervision or oversight while maintaining a high sense of urgency. This person should be detail-oriented with excellent communication and organization skills, and have the ability to effectively manage large quantities of information and multiple projects. The Analyst will be capable of concurrently completing a wide variety of tasks and be able to quickly shift priorities while maintaining focus. Successful Analysts demonstrate a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
