DCA is seeking a Relocation Specialist for its Housing Finance and Development Team. This position will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the Uniform Relocation Act for tenants living in Low Income Housing Tax Credit and HUD-funded developments.
 
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, political science, social science, planning, or other a related field
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the job duties and responsibilities of the job, as determined by The State of Georgia
  • Proven problem-solving and team building skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Has experience reviewing documentation related to federal regulation compliance submitted by developers or other parties to correct omissions and errors.
  • Experience working with low-income households as a social worker, tenant advocate, organizer, community developer, LIHTC property manager, or compliance officer
  • Knowledge of federal regulations regarding tenant rights in affordable housing rental developments including the Uniform Relocation Act, Rental Assistance Demonstration, HUD HOME Investment Partnership Program, and the Low Income Housing Tax Credit program
  • Skilled in giving public presentation to a variety of audiences
  • Ability to create and edit public policy documents
  • Must be detail oriented and organized
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
 
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond politely and courteously to customer inquiries via email and telephone and make sure that any problems they have is resolved
  • Ensure that development teams are providing proper notices regarding moving dates, assistance, and residents’ rights throughout relocation and construction process, maintain records, and monitor for compliance
  • Edit and improve the DCA Relocation Manual and policies to ensure they meet DCA’s intent and developers are aware of what is required
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned
 
Working Conditions (travel, hours, environment)
  • This position is salaried non-exempt.
  • Occasional travel required including air and car travel
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential
  • Home office environment/Field
 
Physical/Sensory Requirements
Sedentary Work – Ability to exert 10 - 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
