IT Manager Roles - Scrum Master (People Manger) & Sr/IT DevOps Manager

We are excited to share two key Information Technology People Manager roles currently open at the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

Scrum Master (People Manager)
As the Scrum Master/People Manager you will lead, coach and develop the agile scrum team which is engaged in the software application development for the CASH Application Delivery organization.
 
Essential responsibilities Scrum:
  • Lead, develop and coach a team of developers on an agile scrum team (SAFe)

  • Coordinate development dependencies that span multiple development team

  • Work with project stakeholders to define project vision, scope and deliverables in support of business goals.

  • Create and manage project plans, artifacts, and deliverables according to prescribed processes and methodologies.

  • Manage communications, issues, risk and scope change throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Implement agile metrics and use those metrics to help the team(s) identify opportunities for improvement during the retrospective meetings.

  • Empower a self-organized team to work together on product delivery.

  • Help facilitate/participate in the daily Scrum stand-ups.

  • Coordinate work across multiple Scrum Teams where dependencies exist.

Sr./IT Manager – DevOps - Description
As the leader of the DevOps organization, you will be instrumental in the advancement and implementation of strategies, practices and tooling supporting DevOps, automation and engineering for solutions on premises and in the cloud. This is an exciting role to execute against the vision and roadmap for DevOps modernization and cloud adoption within the organization and will be a trusted advocate contributing to planning and execution of strategic initiatives.
Essential responsibilities DevOps:
  • Experience to include running highly complex projects, programs or technology platforms.

  • 5 years of experience leading advanced technical teams or related support functions.

  • 3 years of experience with responsibilities over DevOps or CI/CD engineering teams. Solid understanding of the DevOps ecosystem and technology stack (e.g. Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, Subversion, GitHub, GitLab, Fortify, SonarQube).

  • Broad knowledge of current trends in information technology including practices supporting application delivery and engineering.

  • Consistent record of addressing substantial challenges and successfully driving significant change and matrix management.

Qualifications – All Manager Positions!
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Management or a related field or equivalent experience. Master’s degree desirable.

  • Manager level typically seven or more years of related experience plus five or more years of people management. At Sr. Manager level, typically has ten or more years of relevant IT and seven or more years of people management.

  • Experience in successfully leading, coaching and developing staff.

  • Demonstrable ability to collaborate with others, initiate action, adapt to change, demonstrate leadership and accountability.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels of business both verbally and in writing.

  • Commitment to delivering a great customer experience with a personal and professional value system consistent with the culture and values of the Bank and FRS.

+ Scrum Master Qualifications:
  • Typically requires 5 or more years of confirmed experience in software development projects and supporting critical business applications with 3 or more years of confirmed experience in managing projects with moderate to high risk and complexity.

  • Shown experience managing large, complex Web application development is preferred PMP Certification required

  • Experience with Agile team development processes and practices (required))

  • Certified SCRUM Master (required)

  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to include: demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues succinctly.

  • Must be US Citizen or Green Card holder with intent to become a U.S. Citizen.  

+ Sr./IT Manager DevOps Qualifications:
  • Typically has 10+ years of broad technical experience in one or more areas of information technology or management information systems. Experience to include leading highly complex projects, programs or technology platforms.

  • 5 years of experience leading advanced technical teams or related support functions.

  • 3 years of experience with responsibilities over DevOps or CI/CD engineering teams. Solid understanding of the DevOps ecosystem and technology stack (e.g. Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, Subversion, GitHub, GitLab, Fortify, SonarQube).

  • Broad knowledge of current trends in information technology including practices supporting application delivery and engineering.

  • Consistent track record of addressing substantial challenges and successfully driving significant change and matrix management.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
