Geospatial Scientist

Your day-to-day:

-      Programming, obtaining, processing and analyzing various datasets
-      Geo-referencing maps and aerial photographs
-      Preparing input data for various models and post-processing model output to create maps
-      Capture, process and analyze information such as aerial and satellite imagery
-      Use technology like Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to define locations of features
-      Use and develop specialist Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software to turn complex data into maps and 3D virtual plans/models
-      Analyze fixed and moving images to determine data about what’s happening on the ground beneath aerial photographs and overhead images
-      Assess the dimensional details of ground structures, such as size and height, as accurately as possible
-      Design maps and tables based on geospatial analysis

We’d love to hear from you if you have:
 
-      Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Geography, mathematics and statistics, or a related field with experience in GIS and GPS.
-      Computer programming skills
-      Computer modeling and database design
-      Geospatial data analysis
-      Specialist geographic information systems (GIS) software
-      Experience with geospatial analyses, modeling, and interactive system development Experience with machine learning and statistical concepts
-      Background and experience analyzing data with Python, R, or Julia.
-      Expert with at least one scripting language, Python or R preferred.
-      Strong understanding of scientific concepts, approaches, application, and interpretation.
-      Demonstrated experience with common machine learning approaches, statistics, geospatial and command line (e.g. R) applications
