Job Title:                   Fiscal Oversight Administrator (Accounting) Temporary Assignments

Salary:                       $ 51.59 Hourly

A Fiscal Oversight Administrator supervises and participates in the administration of fiscal activities related to the budgetary matters and performs professional-level forensic investigative and auditing work in connection with alleged improprieties of schools, departments, employees, vendors, and contractors. LAUSD is recruiting for two qualified Fiscal Oversight Administrators, who are Certified Public Accountants (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditors (CIA) for a temporary (five month) full time (40 hours per week) assignment.

 

In 1993, the LAUSD designated specific staff to provide oversight to charter schools to ensure that each charter school operates in compliance with all applicable laws and terms of its charter. The Charter Schools Division manages, coordinates, and administers the activities related to the District's efforts in developing, approving, overseeing, and renewing Charter Schools as required by law.

The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor with extensive, recent forensic accounting or auditing experience (either in their current position, or in position held in the last two years) with an in-depth understanding of accounting standards, such as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), forensic reviews, and auditing. S/he utilizes critical judgement in the evaluation of data and the development of clear and concise procedures, training materials, and reports and conducts thorough investigations and identifies and directs the gathering of pertinent evidence during an investigation while maintaining confidentiality of evidence gathered.

Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field and five years of school fiscal policy review or forensic accounting experience. Experience in governmental accounting, automated accounting systems, or charter school audit review is preferable.
