Purpose-Driven Learner/Doer (Operations & Marketing- 3 Spots)

Our mission, here at Inspiring Capital (IC), is to give others the permission, invitations, inspirations, tools and accountability that we all want and need to reach our wholehearted potential, So that together, we can build healthier, fairer, more inclusive, sustainable, just and regenerative teams, organizations, and societies.
 
We do this by specifically guiding organizations (not-for-profits and for-profits alike) to integrate profit and purpose by helping their people connect the dots on how they use their passions, skills, and work to contribute to widespread social and environmental impact. In our 8 years of work with over 200 professionals, 70+ social impact organizations, we've built proprietary tools and 100+ hours of content to inspire and guide professionals to build careers, businesses, and lives that are good for the communities around them and our shared planet.
 
Our current team is small and mighty, and we are looking to expand by hiring 3 Interns for Fall (Sept-December 2020): being one Recruiting & Operations Intern and two Marketing Interns (& If placement works out, all interns will have the option to extend their time with us beyond the set time period into 2021). We’re looking for a empathetic, eager-to-learn, determined, energetic young professionals to translate over eight years of social impact fellowship and client experience into content that builds our community. As a member of our small team, this person will be able and expected to contribute beyond the role descriptions provided, according to our needs, and your skills and interests. But we do have some idea where you'll start! 
 
What you'll do at IC:
 
(1) Recruiting & Operations Intern
 
Summer Fellowship(s) Recruiting
  • Research and construct recruitment diversity initiative
  • Manage and execute job board postings
  • Coordinate recruiting communications
  • Capture learnings from previous summer fellowships
  • Create learning materials for upcoming Summer Fellowship programs, on an as-need basis
  • Assist in communication with Inspiring Capital Fellowship candidates
Assist the Operations Manager on a variety of other operations projects, including...
  • Creating or optimizing internal team operations processes
  • Create and execute Inspiring Capital team cultural activities
  • Attend and learn from calls with partner organizations
Training Event Participation
  • IC events are considered all-hands-on-deck affairs, responsibilities include aiding the team in set-up, hosting guests, and tear down/clean up.
  • Due to COVID-19, IC events have now all gone virtual, where attendance is mandatory for understanding and learning company content and experiencing IC offerings firsthand
Knowledge Management
  • Record and store virtual session recordings, meetings notes, learnings, and debriefs accordingly across Evernote, Dropbox, Google Docs/Sheets, etc... 
Other
  • 30% ‘as-needed’ work around IC, per our needs and your talents and interests
 
 
(2) & (3) Marketing Interns
 
Content & Digital Marketing 
  • Help to capture new content with company equipment, including photographs, video, and audio
  • Work with our team to transform existing content into marketing materials (digital, video, print, etc…)
  • Co-create and execute a content distribution strategy utilizing social media posting, e-mail campaigns, and the IC website to build IC's online presence and following
  • Partially to fully manage various marketing platforms (Social media pages, Mailchimp, etc…)
  • Lead engagement strategies around testing viewer/customer hypotheses
  • Assist in tracking, monitoring, and reporting to continuously improve marketing approaches and outcomes
Training Event Participation

What you've been doing, pre-IC, has given you: 
 
  • Interest in operations/project management responsibilities (setting strategy/timelines, hosting meetings, moving from ideation to execution, keeping to a time-schedule)
  • Natural curiosity; ability to ask really good, specific, and timely questions
  • Desire to learn how to distill big ideas into bite-sized action and next steps and then get them done
  • Ability to ask clarifying questions to capture others’ vision/expectations
  • Passion for helping to make work meaningful, for professionals and employers
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, and comfort with the Reid Hoffman belief that if you’re not embarrassed by your first release, you shipped too late
  • A plus, but not necessary: Familiarity with organizational tools (Asana, Dropbox, Google Sheets, Excel, Word, etc...)
  • Appreciation of the flexibility, ambiguity, and collaboration of startup life
  • Ability to be highly flexible and keep calm in a role with a lot of moving pieces
