Paid Remote Interns and Research Assistants at the Gilder Lehrman Institute
Internships at the Gilder Lehrman Institute provide a strong foundation in various aspects of the museum, archives, and education professions as well as an introduction to working in a nonprofit.
Details
- All interns and research assistants will be paid $15 per hour and will work up to 10 hours per week.
- Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
- Interest in American history and K–12 education is a requirement for all applicants.
- Fall 2020 positions will be conducted remotely.
Intern Roles
Curatorial (Reference): duties include fulfilling reference requests and locating images from within the Gilder Lehrman Collection
Curatorial (Programs): duties include assisting with Collection programs, including Inside the Vault, Spotlights on Documents, and virtual field trips
Curatorial (Documents): duties include assisting with the Transcription Project and creating tables of contents for Founding Era periodicals
Development: duties include prospective donor research and database maintenance
Education (Database): duties include database maintenance for K–12 and Master’s degree programs
Research Assistant Roles
Education (Citations): duties include reviewing and adding citations to teaching resources
Education (Outreach): duties include researching and contacting international schools regarding the EduHam program
Editorial: duties include researching and updating contact information for History Now contributors
