Planning Specialist

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has an immediate need to employ residents of Baton Rouge, Louisiana as temporary local hires to assist with disaster response and recovery efforts. Local hire employees are local residents who aid in the recovery of the community and help their fellow citizens in the recovery process. Apply for this exciting opportunity!

FEMA is seeking candidates with experience in planning.
In this position, you will coordinate and support the implementation of disaster recovery services.  
Typical assignments include:
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of emergency management recovery policies, plans, and procedures.
  • Writing or reviewing portions of broader recovery regulations and guidance documents.
  • Coordinating responsibility for ensuring that regulations and policies developed in the recovery areas are consistent with the statutory requirements and existing policy, that their need is justified, and that they are adequately supported by appropriate analysis.
  • Gathering Strategic Staffing Projection input from incident organization elements and staffing pattern data from Automated Deployment Database.
  • Organizing raw information (e.g., databases, charts, graphs,) to establish a common operating picture; producing clear and accurate planning products using standardized formats as directed.
