Corporate Communications Internship
The Corporate Communications Office at First Citizens Bank has established a summer internship program. The program is designed to provide an opportunity for you to apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while delivering tangible value to the organization.
This Intern will work with the First Citizens Bank communications team on a variety of writing and communications projects and day-to-day responsibilities.
This Corporate Communications Internship will help explore and develop a student’s skillset in:
• Drafting internal feature stories for company website
• Collaborating with internal partners on article content and layout design
• Assisting with digital screens used to share corporate information
• Assisting with other writing-specific projects that may arise among team, to include press releases, customer letters, M&A materials and leader presentations
• Writing and interpersonal skills with strong attention to detail
• Project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects at a time
In addition each Intern will be given the following opportunities:
• Assigned a manager who can help guide them through the program on a daily basis.
• Assignment of a mentor to facilitate a broader view of the Communications Office.
• Participation in unique banking related training events.
• Involvement in networking and team building events.
• A project designed to improve a defined process within the Communications Office will be assigned to each Intern to plan and execute during the internship.
• A wrap-up presentation will be prepared by the Interns to be shared with key leaders in the company to outline their accomplishments and experience during the internship.
Position Requirements:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Communications, Journalism or English
Currently enrolled during the time of the internship as a junior, senior or in a master’s program
3.0 GPA or higher
