Strategy Interns 2021

WHO WE ARE
Gemic is a global growth strategy firm with offices in Helsinki, Berlin, New York, and Toronto. We help some of the largest global companies solve their most difficult growth strategy challenges. As business-minded creative strategists, we are grounded by the methods of the social sciences and design, inspired by the humanities, and reinforced by the analytical rigor of strategy consulting. We are anthropologists, philosophers, designers, economists, sociologists, political scientists, and futurists.

We hail from over 10 countries, speak 14 languages and always work in small teams that carry a project from inception, through research and strategy, into design-led solutions. More than anything, though, we care deeply about what the future will look like, feel like, and mean.

We know that in order to reimagine the future, the present must be unapologetically fun, healthy, and interesting. So, in addition to having some of the sharpest minds and personalities around, we offer our strategists a strong commitment to work-life balance through generous paid time off for vacations, creativity, and volunteer work, employer-paid benefits, and a vibrant company culture.

THE GEMIC INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Our full-time internship program is a two- to four-month paid engagement, during which you’ll be based out of one of our offices* and expected to hit the ground running as a key member of one of our project teams. In addition to taking part in different project phases (including potentially traveling for fieldwork and client meetings), you’ll have a senior team member as your mentor to support your development.

Our internships are a springboard to potential full-time employment, so we look for people who, if hired, could start immediately or soon after this engagement ends.

Please note, unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor visas or work permits, which is why you must be legally authorized to work in the country to which you are applying.
We are not currently accepting applications for the Helsinki office.

We are looking to place interns throughout 2021. The start date for the internships are flexible and hence we will tailor the specific timing, duration, and location separately with each successful applicant. You’ll be offered monthly compensation [Berlin: €2,100 (EUR); New York: $3,600 (USD); Toronto: $3,700 (CAD)].

*NOTE: We are currently heeding guidelines in all offices/regions to work remotely for the health and safety of our team. We are monitoring the Covid-19 situation in all offices through 2021, and would ensure you can join us in-person when the time comes. In the meantime, we have created a program to ensure that you receive extensive support and experience as much of Gemic culture as possible, even if the internship turns out to be a fully virtual one. For the duration of your internship, you will meet regularly with a buddy who will help you immerse yourself with the Gemic community, as well as regular check-ins with your senior-level mentor. Finally, we have adapted our hiring practices to take into account the experience of fully virtual interns when making hiring decisions. This includes a revamped performance feedback and review process to account for the new dynamics of virtual work.
