Phase 55: Dallas ISD Alternative Certification Teacher Intern 2021 - 2022

The Dallas Independent School District Alternative Certification Teacher Program is an intensive post-baccalaureate program designed to transform talented professionals into proficient educators who impact lives.

Qualifications & Requirements:
To be eligible for admission into the Dallas ISD AC Program, you must show a(n):
  • Conferred Bachelor’s degree recognized by a THECB regionally accredited institution
  • Undergraduate GPA of at least 2.5
  • Completion of Dallas ISD fingerprinting and background check requirements
  • Two (2) official undergraduate transcripts:
  • One transcript is to be opened by the applicant & uploaded to their online application
  • One transcript is to be sealed (NOT opened by applicant) and mailed directly to

Additional Requirements & Information
  • If a candidate’s bachelor’s degree is from Puerto Rico or a country outside of the United States candidates must pass all four parts of the TOEFL-iBT, including a minimum score of 26 on the oral portion (Institution Code: 8613). Unfortunately, we are not accepting visa applications at this time.
  • To best serve the needs of Dallas ISD schools, Dallas ISD ACP has a limited number of spots in each of its certification areas and offers admission on a rolling basis. Positions fill-up quickly, and Dallas ISD ACP reserves the right to close the application before the advertised application deadline.

Who is Ineligible for the Dallas ISD AC Program?
  • Applicants currently holding a Texas teacher certificate
  • Applicants who have completed another educator preparation program in the same certification field
  • Applicants who have been employed for three years in a public school under a permit or probationary certificate
  • Applicants who need visa sponsorship
