Philmont Scout Ranch is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a Maintenance Technician on the utilities team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, have an enthusiastic, team-oriented attitude, and possess the required maintenance skills.
Job Overview:
- Performs skilled trades work, primarily focused on utilities maintenance, repair, and construction of related plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and safe operations.
- Make periodic inspections in base camp facilities and backcountry areas to evaluate and determine necessary repair work.
- Assists in the maintenance and repair of the facility's structures, machinery, equipment, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
- Must be able to meet the physical challenges of rigorous outdoor work.
Qualifications/Experience:
- 2 years of utilities maintenance experience under a licensed plumbing and/or electrical contractor is preferred or equivalent experience is required.
- The ability to work from blueprints, drawings, or rough sketches.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record is required.
- Must be able to pass a BSA background check.
- NCS or Camp Ranger Basic certification a plus
Compensation:
This position is a 40-hour week, non-exempt (hourly) Grade 3 position with a salary range of $28,500 - $32,000 per year based on experience plus overtime opportunities. The BSA also offers benefits to include major medical, prescription coverage, dental, vision, life-insurance, short and long-term disability, accidental death, and a retirement plan.
