Finance & Accounting Intern

Notarize is the first on-demand notary platform, allowing anyone to notarize a document online and empowering businesses to send, track and collect notarizations. We're helping people execute the most important transactions of their lives and streamlining operations for countless industries.

As our Finance & Accounting Intern, you’ll work directly with the Senior Financial Analyst and Senior Accountant to manage the customer billing cycle. You’ll be involved in a variety of ad-hoc projects including updating our Salesforce database, assisting in the creation of financial models, and helping integrate new software and financial processes. 

What you’ll do as our Finance & Accounting Intern:
  • Perform weekly and monthly revenue and invoicing reconciliations
  • Maintain a schedule of deferred and prepaid expenses 
  • Assist with building financial models and budgets
  • Maintain customer contracts in Salesforce
  • Partner with the customer success team to ensure customer accounts are setup correctly
  • Interact with clients via email regarding invoices and contractor payments
  • Create standard work around financial processes and identify process improvements

What we’re looking for:
  • Basic accounting knowledge (Quickbooks experience is a plus but not required)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Excel
  • Outstanding communication skills - IRL or online, over phone or email
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Love of learning and pride in resourcefulness - if you don't know how to do something, you figure it out or you know who to ask
  • Self-motivation and an entrepreneurial enthusiasm for a start-up culture

Position Logistics:
  • This internship pays $18/hour
  • Internship ideally starts January 2021 and runs through June (or through the summer if you want)
  • We'll prioritize candidates who can commit to at least 30 hours/week.
  • This is a full-remote/work from home internship. Candidates from anywhere in the United States are welcome to apply, there will be no expectations to be on-site in our Boston office.
