Financial Research Associate

The Oxford Club, a leading publisher of financial ideas, is currently seeking a Research Associate to join their all-star Research Department. Their Research Team is the backbone of their company and provides research support to their Editorial and Marketing departments.
The ideal candidate will love to write and perform in-depth research and analysis, as well as have a passion for finance. He or she should be ambitious and eager to learn and master new skills.
Responsibilities
As an Oxford Club Research Associate, you’ll spend much of your time writing articles and research reports, tracking and interpreting financial trends, answering high-level customer service questions, and maintaining their many stock, option, bond, venture capital and cryptocurrency portfolios.
Their Research Associates work directly with their financial experts to develop market-beating investment systems and recommendations. In this position, you’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest and most successful investors on or off of Wall Street.
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. You know how to tell a compelling story out loud and on paper.
- Fluent in “Wall Street Speak.” You have a deep understanding of investing techniques, terms and financial calculations.
- Proficient using the Microsoft Office suite of products. You know your way around Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Bloomberg Terminal experience. If you’ve used a Bloomberg or other financial services software, we view it as a big plus.
- Customer service experience. You have a knack for making customers happy.
- An independent thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit. You’re great at solving problems with minimal direction and are constantly coming up with ideas to improve processes and projects to generate revenue.
Expectations
- Comfortable working on and prioritizing multiple projects at one time.
- Deep-rooted desire to learn about finance and investing.
- Obsessive attention to detail and meeting or, better yet, beating deadlines.
- Ability to take directions from managers and mentors as well as learn on the job as you go.
Performance Objectives
- Within 30 days you will know all our front and back end services and acronyms
- Within 90 days you will be able to fully setup portfolios for alerts and reporting software
- Within 180 days you will have developed a basic skillset on the Bloomberg terminal and have a full understanding of our excel tracking sheets
By the end of your first year you should be able to write research reports/articles with little help from senior team members.
If you have writing experience, you’re a strong candidate. Experience with Excel and/or HTML is also welcomed. But the core skill we’re looking for is someone who is passionate about learning new things.
