Summer Internship in Biomedical Sciences

Purpose:
To provide a learning opportunity for undergraduate students interested in biomedical science The internship will provide real world experience with scientists engaged in a research intensive environment

Description:
The Diabetes and Obesity Center ( and Christina Lee Brown Envirome Institute ( at the University of Louisville offer summer internship program for undergraduate students in STEM Successful candidates will gain experience working in a faculty led biomedical research laboratory Interns will gain practical knowledge of the scientific method, experimental design and execution, data analysis, and presentation The research led by over 20 faculty in the DOC and EI focuses on cardiovascular disease and involves various disciplines, including physiology, metabolism, immunology, and pathology Laboratories in the DOC and EI have state of the art instrumentation to support their scientific pursuits.

Program details:
Each candidate will work with faculty led teams in the DOC or EI during the summer In addition to exposure to cutting edge biomedical research, interns will receive hourly compensation $15/hr; ~40 hrs/week
