Research Analyst Intern - Paid & Remote

The Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina (EDPNC) (www.edpnc.com) is actively recruiting for a paid summer research analyst intern. EDPNC oversees new business recruitment, existing industry support, international trade development, small business counseling, and tourism activities for the state of North Carolina.

The Research Analyst intern works collaboratively as a part of the Research and Marketing team to provide timely, accurate, and actionable data for business recruitment and expansion projects, business development efforts, and international trade promotion. Key functions of the Research and Marketing Team include, but are not limited to:

·      Conducting research and analysis to respond to site selection inquiries. Supporting the Partnership’s recruitment efforts by providing teammates with clear, timely data for projects to help North Carolina “win” more jobs.
·      Understanding North Carolina’s competitive position (e.g. related to workforce, taxes, incentives, labor markets, infrastructure, etc.) compared to our neighboring states in the Southeast, those across the nation, and international competitors.
·      Identifying industry trends in North Carolina, the U.S., and globally, and finding ways to position the Partnership and the state to effectively target those industries with the best ROI for the state.
·      Conducting company-level research to identify potential targets for recruitment efforts.

EDPNC is similar to a start-up, and as a result, it is crucial that everyone on the team is comfortable working in an occasionally unstructured, but always fast-paced environment.
