Navigation/Case Manager for the Family Justice Center( FJC)
 
DCRC is seeking a Navigator/Case Manager for the Family Justice Center (FJC) to provide assistance to victims of domestic and sexual violence seeking assistance through the civil and criminal justice center. The FJC provides services to primary and secondary victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and other forms of gender-based violence.  The FJC is made up of collaborate partners to ensure the best care and safety possible for victims.  The successful applicant will join a team of legal advocates to:
  • Manage the front desk of the Family Justice Center;
  • Review each intake form, provide screening and assess client’s appropriateness for FJC services;
  • Conduct client intake and needs assessment;
  • Explain process for FJC, filing protective orders and court procedures;
  • Answer the FJC phone and provide direct support to the legal advocates as needed;
  • Assist with administrative duties including, creating client folders, filing, & front desk operations;
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Director;
  • Provide case management duties including appropriate referrals to additional services as needed;
  • Provide resources for clients with housing assistance, financial assistance, etc. 
  • Develop positive and effective working relationships with community partners to provide further assistance with victims.
Required skills/experience:  Degree in Social Work, Human Services or related field along with a minimum two years’ experience providing services to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence and/or other crimes and knowledge of legal advocacy. Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills needed.  Experience working effectively with a diverse population and a commitment to anti-oppression models of service. Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a stressful environment.  Competency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Written and oral fluency in English and Spanish preferred.
