Engineer II/III - Industrial/Mechanical

Job Description: 
   
Orano Decommissioning Services is seeking an Industrial or Mechanical Engineer II-III to support the engineering, design, and planning associated with the reactor vessel and internals segmentation and packaging work performed as part of its nuclear power plants D&D projects.
The Industrial or Mechanical Engineer II-III will perform a variety of engineering and design tasks including but not limited to:
  • Development of conceptual Segmentation and Packaging Plans, including the evaluation and selection of appropriate waste package system,
  • Waste package design, development, procurement support, fabrication oversight, installation, and test,
  • Waste package commissioning at site, site operations support, work execution planning, and support to equipment maintenance.
  • Prepare, plan and participate in site walk downs to capture actual plant configuration
  • Develop detailed Project Work Procedures that define and control on-site operations
  • Support emergent engineering and design needs
  • Provide package, support equipment and services mobilization support
  • Develop evolving sequence layout support
The Industrial or Mechanical Engineer II-III will prepare engineering documents, including calculations, technical evaluations, specifications, purchase requests, and procedures, in compliance with all requirements and Orano DS procedures.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
An important part of the project scope is procurement support, fabrication oversight, and commissioning of reactor components packages and associated support equipment and services to be used during packaging operations. The Industrial or Mechanical Engineer will support the procurement group with the following responsibilities:
  • Develop the design and technical specifications needed for procurement,
  • Assist with the evaluation of subcontractor’s qualifications and proposals,
  • Ensure the subcontractor complies with all technical requirements of the subcontract,
  • Witness factory acceptance testing or other inspections and audits in support of QA.
  • Prepare the waste package commissioning & dry-run procedures and provide shake-out support   

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this  opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 2-5 years of mechanical or industrial engineering experience in the area of industrial facility decommissioning and dismantlement or other similar experience such as equipment and package design, nuclear operations, outage work, clean-up and closure.
  • Proficiency in the preparation, coordination and review of drawings.
  • Proficiency in technical writing
  • Ability to support teams, interface with clients and subcontractors.

  • Nuclear waste packaging design and procurement
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of the ASME/ANSI standards and codes,
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Knowledge of PWR and BWR designs,
  • Experience working on site at nuclear facilities
