Investment Solutions Spring Intern

Summary of Position

The Investment Solutions Group Intern position will support the broad framework of all internally managed portfolio strategies provided by Hightower. The position requires a basic understanding of asset management, capital markets, financial products and technology. The Intern’s primary function will be to support aspects of performance reporting, portfolio analysis, portfolio commentary and ad hoc strategic projects.

The candidate should be a quick study, have a strong interest in financial markets, have above average Excel skills, and be self-motivated. We will be targeting a start date in January 2021.

Internship Description

·        Serve as a resource to all divisions within the Investment Solutions Group, with the majority of their time spent with the equities team
·        Complete quantitative and qualitative analysis in support of Financial Advisor practices within Hightower
·        Assist with the quantitative analysis of Hightower’s internal portfolio management strategies (i.e. review equity research, update stock rankings models)
·        Maintain marketing materials such as Fact Sheets, Monthly Updates, and Pitchbooks, and share content for advisor consumption
·        Participate in meetings across the entire team and prepare related follow-up items as needed
·        Attend virtual conferences and investment webinars hosted by our research partners

Qualifications

·        Working towards a bachelor’s degree
·        Ability to dedicate 20 hours per week
·        Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
·        Knowledge and strong interest in Financial Markets & Products
·        Willingness and ability to learn new technology systems (e.g. Morningstar, Bloomberg, Riskalyze, Salesforce and other vendor tools)
·        Willingness and ability to learn and develop investment analysis skills
·        Open to feedback and continuously growing your interpersonal and technical skills
·        Outcome and detail oriented
·        You are a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future
