Digital Programs/Social Media Intern

Outside the Lens is a non-profit with a mission to amplify youth voices through photography, filmmaking, and digital media art, catalyzing change within themselves, their community, and the world. Outside the Lens is seeking a Part-Time Digital Programs Intern to contribute to the sustainability, capacity, and efficacy of our Youth Tellers Program. Youth Tellers is a dynamic, virtual collaborative space for youth across the globe to create and share their visual media.
Job Summary: Outside the Lens is now accepting resumes for a college-level enthusiastic, self-motivated and creative Digital Programs Intern to join the team and gain hands-on experience in social media, program development, and online community engagement. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate, innovative and detail-oriented. The Digital Programs Intern should be able to take initiative, be reliable, have a strong sense of ownership, and feel comfortable seeking guidance.
The Digital Programs Intern will help manage the program’s social media platforms and online engagement channels, including Discord, to help support artistic relationships and spark creativity for program participants. Duties include planning and scheduling workshops relating to various artistic mediums and researching resources related resources to further participant knowledge. The intern will have opportunities to partake in the creative elements of the Youth Tellers program, including an artistic cultural exchange and youth-led artistic and content creation projects. 
Preferred experience with Premier/Adobe Suite/Video Editing
Essential Responsibilities /Roles:
  • Developing content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TokTok, and/or LinkedIn
  • Researching and planning workshops based on artistic platforms 
  • Supporting dialogue and channel development on the Discord server 
  • Engaging program participants on a digital platform 
  • Other duties as assigned
Must be available to attend Zoom meetings on Saturdays from 10:00-11:30AM
The internship is unpaid, but we encourage you to redeem your time for class credit.
