These are full-time, temporary classified position opportunities, represented by a union, for anyone to apply.

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), Acute and Communicable Disease Prevention (ACDP) Section in Portland, is recruiting for two (2) Emerging Infections Program COVID Special Studies Epidemiologist positions in Portland, OR. These are temporary positions lasting 6-months from the date of hire.

What will you do?
The primary purpose of these positions is to provide epidemiologic expertise, review medical charts, collect data, and ensure the integrity of data for reportable diseases and special studies focused on Healthcare Associated Infections (HAIs).

What are we looking for?
Requested Skills

Minimum Qualifications: A Master’s degree in Community Public Health, Epidemiology, Research Analyst, or a closely related field AND one year of epidemiologic, community health, or research analysis experience; OR
A Bachelor's degree in Community Public Health, Epidemiology, or a closely related field AND two years of epidemiologic or community health experience
·       Must have a current driver’s license.
·       This position requires the ability to routinely travel overnight.
·       Experience in Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAIs) backgrounds and expertise in infection control preferred.
·       Experience working with medical charts in an inpatient setting or otherwise working extensively with medical chart review and abstraction preferred.
·       Experience in adherence to the highest standards of confidentiality regarding patient information and information security.
·       Preference will be given to those with:
o  Experience in Microbiology coursework or significant applied professional experience;
o  Experience in Public health and infectious disease surveillance;
o  Experience working with medical charts in an inpatient setting or otherwise working extensively with medical chart review and abstraction.
·       Experience promoting a culturally competent and diverse work environment.

Working Conditions
Data collection for many studies and for investigation of disease outbreaks involves work during evenings and weekends.
Extensive multiple day travel, including driving, may be required in all weather conditions.
