DevOps Engineering Intern (DEVOP06978)

Introduction
 
The DevOps engineer will report to the Engineering manager or Software Technical Manager under the NA CRE Software Team. The role will require the engineer to work with software development and Continuous Integration teams in different Visteon locations, mainly in Mexico and India. The primary objective would be to support the Lift and Left Shift initiative and work on metrics dashboards, testing, build and release automation. The initiative would be contributing to reconfigurable cluster projects for North America OEMs.

The Role
 
As a member of the DevOps team, the DevOps engineer will be supporting the software development, build, and release and testing automation.
 
· Interpret existing requirements
· Understand concepts of Continuous Integration and Delivery
· Understand Software Development workflow and improve automation
· Understand and modify existing source code for minor changes
· Understand the Test Cases and Procedures
· Understand the Automation/Manual methods and Execute test cases in the Test bench
· Handle different testing tools
· Ensure that work products created are reviewed by respective feature specialists to ensure quality
 
On a typical project, you will interface with a core team of 3-5 developers including
· Engineering Manager
· Software Technical Delivery Manager
· Senior Software developers
 
Role will be located at GLCC office in Van Buren Township, MI. Limited or no travel is required.
 
More specifically you will
· Develop metric dashboards for different KPIs
· Improve Continuous Integration and Delivery workflow
· Develop and/or Enhance Automated Test Frameworks
· Deploy Jenkins pipelines supporting the automation objective
 
 
The Requirements
 
To be a good fit for DevOps engineer you will have:
· Completed 2 years of Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
· Fundamental computer science skills and programming skills in C
· Practical knowledge of Python and/or other scripting language
 
 
Desired Competencies:
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Capacity to work well in a team environment
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills
· Enjoyment of troubleshooting, profiling, optimizing and problem solving
· Knowledge of Continuous Integration concepts
· Knowledge of software automation and code generation
