Investment Banking Analyst - 2021

Genesis Capital is seeking candidates to fill an investment banking analyst position. The position requires a 2 - 3 year commitment and allows analysts to participate in a variety of financial transactions, specifically mergers & acquisitions, in a wide range of industries. 

Analysts provide direct support to senior bankers and are expected to handle a high level of responsibility in the execution of M&A transactions. The analyst will be given significant responsibility and will receive client exposure, deal experience, and an understanding of transaction structures. In most M&A assignments, the analyst assists in the following: financial statement analysis, financial modeling, valuation, preparing presentation & offering materials, and conducting industry and company research, among other tasks. Due to the small size of the firm, the environment at Genesis Capital is collegial and rewards analysts with substantial responsibility, unparalleled transaction experience and exposure to senior-level accounting and legal professionals and CEOs and CFOs of client companies.

Candidates should have a proven academic background from a leading college or university with at least a 3.3 GPA, preferably with a focus in a business-related discipline. Candidates must be extremely motivated, possess a high degree of maturity, must be committed to delivering superior service and work of the highest quality. Knowledge of business, economics, accounting, and/or finance acquired through education or experience is preferred. Candidates must have excellent writing skills, incorporating the ability to explain detailed financial and statistical analyses. Candidates must have the ability to work within a demanding and dynamic team environment. Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are required. Candidates should have a demonstrated proficiency in the assessment of unstructured business problems and superior analytical and quantitative skills. Preference will be given to candidates with internships or prior experience within the financial services industry at an investment bank or commercial bank.
