POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary function of this role is to be responsible for collaborating with business owners to define the scope and detailed business requirements for IT projects. The position also requires the understanding of Quality Assurance and the ability to test the solutions against the requirements. The BSA ensures that SDLC processes are followed, and that project artifacts (documentation, test cases, etc.) are accurately delivered, per project schedules. Additional job duties include validating system configuration and backing up the Software Configuration Analyst when required.

  2. Working with team members to identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities within IT.

  6.   Identify and communicate concerns, problems, and challenges to leadership in a positive, constructive, and solution oriented manner.

  8.  Perform other duties as assigned.
 
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  1. Collaborates with the business to identify technology solutions by analyzing requirements; produces required documentation (BRD’s, test cases, current state/future state charts and diagrams, current system capabilities, etc.)
  2.    Ensures that requirements are written for audit compliance and successful solution development.
  3.   Generates quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) test cases.
  4.  Leads QA and UAT testing.
  5. Tests the solution against the requirements.
  6.  Updates the documentation repository with project artifacts.
  7.  Provides subject matter expertise on business process design, providing guidance and technical input to stakeholders.
  8.  Validate various system configurations, such as user permissions, system, product and claims configuration.
  9. Serve as a backup for the Software Configuration Analyst when required. These duties include configuration of user, system, product and claim systems.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1.  Strong business acumen; the ability to clearly and precisely document business requirements and to develop appropriate test cases.
  2. Experience in software Quality Assurance testing.
  3. The ability to communicate effectively with Software Engineers to translate requirements documents into technical documents.
  4.   Strong project estimation skills.
  5.  Ability to partner with business clients to develop the most appropriate solutions.
  6.   Strong hands-on application of SDLC methodologies and best practices; experience with Agile and Waterfall approaches.
  7.      Excellent technical writing skills.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
  9.   Understanding of database-side technologies (SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, stored procedures) to test backend data.
 
Desired Education and Experience
  1.  BS/BA Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field.
  2.   3 years’ experience in business systems analysis/process analysis/QA testing.
  3. Business Analysis certification (CBAP, PMI-PBA, etc.).
