Morenci Unified School District is seeking a High School Spanish Teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. This will be for beginning and advanced Spanish students in grades 9-12. The successful applicant will focus on ensuring students develop conversational and literacy skills, as well as appreciation of culture in Spanish-speaking countries.
 
The district offers a very competitive salary schedule and benefit package including a possible $12,000 in performance pay. The district provides a major medical plan for its employees. The district pays 100% of the premium for single employees and approximately 67% of the premium for the family plan, dependent on plan chosen. Rent is inexpensive. Housing is provided for its teachers through the local mining company, Freeport-McMoRan.

Successful applicants will be highly qualified to teach Spanish at the high school level.

Teachers are required to plan and create lessons and activities for Spanish 1 and 2 classes. Lessons and activities should help students master beginning level skills in conversation and written language, as well as the varied cultures of Spanish-speaking countries. Spanish 2 students should be prepared to be successful at the college level. Teachers will also be required to assess and report student progress in course objectives.

Minimum qualifications include being certified (or being willing to pursue certification) as a high school teacher, and a Bachelor's level degree in Spanish or equivalent experience.
