Donor Communications Representative

Stop Soldier Suicide is searching for a talented, goal-oriented Donor Communications Representative to join its donor engagement team. This position is responsible for qualifying incoming/outgoing calls for donor potential, routing to the appropriate internal teams and working collaboratively within the organization to perfect the donor experience and lifecycle. Preference is candidate local to Durham, NC but can work remote.

Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
  • Contact potential/current donors via cold calls, emails, and social media to activate or increase gifting levels. Follow a process and appropriate scripting for conducting a call with a donor, to ensure a consistent donor experience.
  • Receive incoming calls to assess and qualify potential donors for levels of support and direct them to the appropriate internal departments for follow up.
  • Upsell/cross sell as appropriate by engaging potential donors to make a leadership level gift, monthly giving, and/or increase their initial giving level.
  • Achieve qualitative and quantitative targets, for example 50 outreach activities per day, to meet established donor goals.
  • Use information from multiple computer systems simultaneously to target appropriate donor engagement activities, update donor records as needed and to record outcomes of calls.
  • Schedule qualifying meetings for Director of Donor Engagement to further assess a prospect's potential for investment with SSS
  • Efficiently analyze data to inform new donor engagement strategies and optimize existing ones
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Non-profit management or relate field is ideal
  • Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, sound decision-making and interpersonal skills.
  • Desire to meet and exceed documented performance goals and welcomes challenges.
  • Tech savvy and proficient in using multiple computer applications and systems
  • Driven to go beyond “making a difference” and committed to immersing self in SSS’s mission

Our team is small, but we’re growing aggressively to meet the demand for our services and accomplish our goal of reducing the military suicide rate by 40% by 2030. That means empowering 2,400 mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters or battle buddies with a brighter future each year.
