Remote Intern: Corporate Compliance (US)

The Compliance Intern will support the Compliance Officers with various aspects of an effective compliance program. The Compliance intern will also have the opportunity to learn about compliance operations and the role of corporate compliance in life sciences. Responsibilities may include the following:

General
  • Learn about the Corporate Compliance program
  • Shadow US Compliance Officers
  • Monitor and triage US Compliance Email Box
  • Manage US Compliance Calendar (conferences, reporting deadlines, monitoring deadlines, etc.)
  • Manage Team Meeting Minutes & Action Items
  • Manage Team shared site for working documents
  • Manage monthly delivery & posting of state transparency report

Monitoring
  • Track monitoring of field force
  • Review, QC, and upload completed monitoring reports to risk assessment system
  • Run BiWeekly Observations Report for Calibration / Close Out
  • Periodic Monitoring Planned vs. Actual Reports
  • Reports for healthcare professional Engagement selection
  • Support creation & management of Compliance Committee Reports
  • Send notices for meal cap violations
  • Manage corrective actions tracker

Business Partner Support
  • Attend business-led meetings with Compliance Ops Director (Program Ops, Transparency, etc.)
  • Participate in weekly HCP Engagement Continuous Improvement meetings as well as ongoing CI initiatives
  • Collaborate with US Standards and Governance team on process improvements, monitoring, data analytics, etc.

Training
  • Track Training Completions
  • Coordinate with associated Compliance Officers to send overdue notices
  • Support development of new training content
  • Development of training matrix
  • Development of training e-modules

Policy and Guidance
  • Manage ongoing policy reviews, track progress, status, etc.
  • Manage list of proposed improvements or updates to be included in future policy revisions
  • Review and supporting updating of compliance guidance

Communications
  • Support Compliance Communications and Open House Call


Qualifications


To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
  • Grade point average of 3.2 or higher preferred
  • At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university

Additional qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Minimum availability of 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2021

Education
Current undergraduate student majoring in life sciences, healthcare or related fields or a law student
