Audio/Video Files Conversion Summer Intern – Unpaid

Summary of Position:
The intern will assist with taking MP4 video files and following a series of steps to place closed captions on each video and then upload the files to the Granicus Agenda Management Software Program as assigned by the City Clerk. The Intern will ensure that closed captioning has been properly placed on each video before uploading for public viewing. As time permits, closed-captioned text files will need to be reviewed to remove erroneous verbiage as a result of conversion.

Essential Job Duties
City of Delray Beach - Summer Internship Program 2021
Dates: June 1, 2021 – August 6, 2021

Essential job functions:
  • Work with mentor to set development goals to satisfy college internship requirements.
  • Complete assigned projects in a timely manner by working closely with the City Clerk and Deputy City Clerk.
  • Acquire knowledge of the City’s Clerk’s Office functions.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal characteristics:
  • Strong organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees
  • Ability to follow directions/instructions.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office 2010 and Internet research
Learning Goals
  • Working with City Clerk and IT staff (if needed) to convert audio/video files.

Minimum Qualifications:
Current college student or recent graduate, prefrably, sophomore, junior, or senior level student pursuing a major in Public Administration or Information Technology and who will be continuing their education enrolled in an accredited community college/university for Fall 2021.
• They will be a high-performing student, with good communication and customer service skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
