Job Summary:
- Teach curriculum of Independent School District 196.
- Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
- Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal.
- Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.
Qualifications:
- Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach high school social studies..
- Strong general academic background.
- Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.

District 196 is a public school district of choice located in the southern suburbs of Minneapolis and St. Paul. It is the fourth largest school district in Minnesota, serving 30,000 students and more than 150,000 residents. The district’s 110 square miles encompass all or part of the cities of Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan, Burnsville, Coates, Inver Grove Heights and Lakeville, and Empire and Vermillion townships.

The district also operates two learning centers that provide early childhood and Adult Basic Education, and offers robust community education programs and classes for life-long learners of all ages.
