The University of Dayton is seeking a dedicated, hardworking, multiculturally focused, and community centered Therapist to serve in the Counseling Center. The therapist is responsible for providing individual and group therapy, emergency walk-in support, after hours crisis intervention as part of a rotation, outreach, and supervision of graduate trainees. Through an approach of prevention, education, treatment, and care, the Counseling Center team is missioned to provide a positive impact on the mental health, wellbeing, and academic success of all students through services that promote resiliency, capacity building, and facilitate optimal student development and growth. The Counseling Center actively contributes to the university's holistic approach to mental health and suicide prevention through integration of the UD Step Care Model. The ideal candidate for this position will hold strong ethics regarding client confidentiality, serve as a generalist to help students who present with a wide range of clinical presentations, and understand the importance of being available some evenings and weekends to best serve students. To achieve success, the candidate must be dedicated to reducing barriers to care that exist for communities of color, the LGBTQ+ community, and other marginalized groups. Further, a commitment to understand and support the University of Dayton's distinctive Marianist tradition and educational vision, as well as a willingness to model institutional values of service to others, community, and diversity are imperative.
