Content Creator/Social Media Marketing Intern

Akinship is a career education and professional networking community for Black, Indigenous, and People of Color groups to share experiences and transfer knowledge. We provide access to the tools and resources required to thrive professionally. Additionally, our company provides members with a safe space to provide anonymous feedback on current and former employers. Members can engage candidly with each other, creating an integrated community of professionals who serve as reliable resources for one another.

As a Content Creator/Social Media Marketing Intern you will....
- Create content for our website and other outlets
- Contribute to the Akinship blog
- Stay abreast of news and trends taking place in career/professional development, DE&I matters, hiring, workplace
- Pitch and implement ideas for social media campaigns
- Learn our voice and write engaging photo captions for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Monitor social media conversations and respond to comments on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Launch new social media channels to build out our brand presence
- Support influencer and media outreach
- Monitor and report on social engagement and follower growth
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
- Clear passion for diversity, equity and inclusion issues
- Proven interest in social media and storytelling
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated multi-tasker with a strong work ethic
- Highly organized in a fast-paced startup environment
- Enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn
- Ability to collaborate and be a team player
- Understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
- Ability to work remotely
- Graphic design, video editing, and Photoshop skills a plus
