Mental Health Professional II - BRRC

Under limited supervision, provides individual and/or group diagnostic clinical services to juveniles committed to the Broad River Road Complex. 

Performs advanced and diversified counseling and case management functions for individuals with behavioral and mental health issues. 

Develops and implements treatment plans, modifying them according to behavioral and emotional changes and needs of the clients. 

Guides clients in the development of skills or strategies toward achieving and maintaining good mental health.

Performs as case manager and develops, coordinates and implements an individualized plan for service and treatment for each juvenile assigned to caseload.

Serves as chairperson of intradisciplinary treatment plan meeting. Responsible for the treatment team report, weekly progress notes, juvenile files (i.e. updates and monitoring, recommendations, requests, memorandum and contact notes.)

Counsels with juveniles on an individual and group basis focusing on the treatment team goals and plan for services in order to meet their needs and to enhance their ability to function in more socially and behaviorally appropriate ways. Also counsels juveniles on behavior and progress in all phases of commitment; prepare them for re-entry into community.

Attends staff meetings, conferences, and training. Available to parents and other agencies/disciplines for consultation. Provides family therapy as needed.

Serves as the clinician on call on a rotating basis. Responds to crisis needs of caseload and others in living units.

Develops, supervises and/or coordinates operations such as security procedures, juvenile behavioral assessments, recreation, maintenance program, and staff functions.
