Physician, Hospitalist.

Physician, Hospitalist. Carolinas Physicians Network, Inc. d/b/a Atrium Health Medical Group. Shelby, NC. Provide individualized, high-quality patient care services including, but not limited to, order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescription or pharmacological agents and non-pharmacological therapies. Prescribe and administer medications and treatments to treat and prevent illness and diseases. Monitor lab results and reevaluate treatments as necessary. Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners where necessary. Provide observation, inpatient, and consultative care to hospitalized patients. Provide timely and quality patient care. Effectively communicate with the organization’s internal and external customers. Provide prompt responses to calls from nursing units and the emergency department. Engage in interdepartmental and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure a single standard of care. Ensure that each patient’s medical record is complete and accurate and that all required documentation is completed in a manner consistent with the hospital. Complete evaluations of all admission and other patients prior to the completion of each shift. Maintain positive relations with community physicians, emergency physicians, nurses, case managers, and other staff. Participate in quality improvement activities and hospital committees. Support the mission and vision of Carolinas Hospitalist Group and ensure that department operations are consistent with the hospital’s plan for care delivery of the hospitalized patient. Work 7 am – 7 pm, seven (7) days on and seven (7) days off Tuesday-Monday every other week, rotating every 4th shift to 7pm -7 am.
Requires a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from an accredited school of Medicine or foreign equivalent and unrestricted license to practice medicine in state of North Carolina (Medical Board License); American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Certification or be Board eligible and DEA license.
