Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of PREVAYL Program Manager to join the Division of Health Protection, Injury Prevention Section . Won't you join us?    

Job Responsibilities:
This position directs the overall operation of the program, including overseeing the planning and logistics, implementation, and reporting of program activities, coordination with other agencies, development of program materials, provision of service and training, collection, tabulation and interpretation of required data, and evaluation of program and staff performance. This position will cultivate new and existing partnerships with organizations whose work is related to the social determines of health, promoting racial equity, and who use a shared risk and protective factors approach. This individual is the responsible authority for ensuring necessary reports and documentations are submitted to the grant funder, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This position will coordinate with other internal and external programs.
  • Creates, produces, updates, and disseminates basic information packages, fact sheets, program newsletters, resource guides, policy manuals, and educational programs pertaining to PREVAYL programming.
  • Selects, plans, and implements youth violence prevention strategies.
  • Leverages multi-sector partnerships and resources.
  • Follows reporting requirements and submits reports to the funding agency.
  • Participates in both state and local meetings with diverse stakeholders.
  • Develops and implements a process and outcome evaluation plan.
  • Works with local Injury and Violence Prevention networks and/or coalitions and grows and supports those networks and groups.
  • Plans and provides Injury and Violence Prevention educational/training opportunities for community stakeholders.
  • Supports the sustainability of programmatic activities.
  • Receives additional training, as required, to gain full proficiency and experience in all areas.
  • Responds to all inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates and monitors the work of the Regional Youth Violence Prevention Coordinator.
  • Submits annual injury indicators and special emphasis reports to the funder.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND One year of experience required at the lower level Prgm Consultant 1 (GSP090) or position equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Experience in conducting trainings or presentations to community audiences is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in managing federal awards.
  • Experience in injury and violence prevention is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working on the social determinants of health, shared risk and protective factors and the social-ecological model is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with incorporating data into actionable programs and activities.
  • Experience in program planning, program evaluation, performance monitoring, budget management, financial reporting, and personnel management preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in MSWord, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Experience in public health communications.
  • Experience working with diverse partners.
  • Evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation of scientific papers at conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals is preferred but not required.
  • Evidence of good interpersonal and management skills
