Make your mark in public service. As an accredited public health department, we're seeking a highly qualified candidates for the position of Healthcare Program Consultant 3 to join the Division of Health Protection, Epidemiology Section. Won't you join us?  

Job Responsibilities:
The NHBS project is responsible for collecting behavioral information on populations at highest risk for HIV/AIDS infection. The Georgia Department of Public Health monitors the epidemic and provides data for use in guiding HIV prevention planning and treatment services within the Atlanta region. The focus of this position is oversight of field data collection, data management, analysis, and dissemination of the data. Most of the work takes place at outside field locations. Roughly this occurs for 4-6 months each year.
  • Serve as a member of the data collection team implementing operations that are primarily responsible for field operations supervision and managing infectious disease testing primarily relate to HIV.
  • The candidate will assist with training and evaluation of the GHBS team members which will include training of new research team members, particularly surrounding rapid HIV testing, treatment of HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections.
  • Project management experience is necessary as the candidate will be responsible for training and evaluating staff with administering testing and follow-up with testing services and healthcare and community-based agencies with a focus on services.
  • Experience with implementing HIV rapid testing, counseling, and linkage to care and needed services.
  • Conducting interviews of key informants and community stakeholders in preparation for survey administration,
  • Preparing report based on interviews,
  • Overseeing HIV testing data collection and supervision of staff at the field sites (July through November),
  • Conducting daily shift debriefs with field staff
  • Conducting data analysis and dissemination of HIV testing data,
  • Participating in field research events held by the local NHBS team at local store-front locations throughout the metro Atlanta 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and five years experience performing work related to area of assignment
OR
Master's degree in a related field and two years experience performing work related to area of assignment
OR
One year at the lower level or position equivalent. 
Note: Some positions may require licensure.

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to meeting the above qualifications, preference will be given to applicants who possess the following:
  • Experience in field data collection
  • Experience working with populations surveyed by NHBS
