Platform Support Engineering Summer Internship
The Role
We are seeking a support engineer to join our US Platform Support Engineering team. The candidate will be a part of a team that provides front line support for Schonfeld’s proprietary quantitative trading and research environment. The team (alongside counterparts based in UK and Asia) provide 24/7 monitoring and support as well as closely working with the development teams to ensure reliability, maintainability and performance of the production environment.
What you’ll do
The Platform Support Engineer will serve as the first point of contact for production issues, support requests and alerts. You will investigate and solve issues/outages as they occur and escalate as necessary. The Engineer will collaborate with software development teams to ensure successful resolutions of issues and deployments of new code/configuration into production. The ideal candidate will also automate processes and workflows as well as build tooling for our environment.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Interest and experience in scripting – Python, Bash, Shell
- Experience in Operating Systems – Linux
- Strong automation mindset
- Strong sense of ownership and a track record of delivering results
We’d love if you had:
- Experience supporting applications and users
- Knowledge of financial services domain
- Knowledge of front office systems
- Knowledge of FIX protocol
Our Internship
The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August.
Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience. We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.
