Platform Onboarding Engineering Summer Internship

We are seeking a highly qualified and talented student to join us as a team member of our global Platform Onboarding team. You will spend ten weeks with the group responsible for helping Portfolio Managers and brokers connect their systems to Schonfeld’s comprehensive quantitative internal trading platform.                                                                             

You’ll work alongside senior engineers implementing, validating, configuring, and certifying Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol connections.

You will be assigned both a manager and mentor, participate in organized team-building events, lunch and learns, social activities, and network with senior management throughout the summer. You will be assigned summer-long projects that will be directly related to the work of the team you are assigned to, which you will present on at the completion of the program. Upon completion of the internship, you may be extended a full-time offer of employment.

We do not require prior experience in finance, but we do require a passion for software development and solving business problems. We will teach you what you may lack in business knowledge & technically areas to help you complete your tasks.

The Schonfeld summer internship provides students with a unique opportunity to experience Schonfeld, our work, our people, and our culture. Interns will typically join a small team and will spend 10 weeks at Schonfeld from June - August.

Each summer intern will work on a tailored project that will provide them with real world experience. We provide all interns with a dedicated mentor and manager to help them navigate the summer successfully. Interns will also participate in our learning program, the Sapphire: Summer Session, which aims to provide tangible skills training and education on various functions across the firm and in the workplace. Along with the hands-on guidance and support from managers and mentors, interns will participate in weekly networking events, engage with our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Alliance, attend panel discussions, and have many opportunities to get to know Schonfeld’s core values in practice.
