AmeriCorps Intern

We are now recruiting for our Fall 2021 Virtual Internship Program. Dates may be flexible depending on office needs and intern schedules.

Undergraduate Interns will be compensated at a rate of $15.00 per hour.
Graduate Interns will be compensated at a rate of $17.00 per hour.

Applicants will have the opportunity to select their top three interests/office preferences*. Internship descriptions can be found below and in the assessment portion of the announcement. AmeriCorps internship opportunities include:

  • Project Management & Public Administration - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Immediate Office. The CEO's office is responsible for ensuring that the agency fulfills its mission and overall objectives.
  • Committee on Native American Affairs - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Immediate Office. The CEO's office is responsible for ensuring that the agency fulfills its mission and overall objectives.
  • Communication & Policy - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Immediate Office. The CEO's office is responsible for ensuring that the agency fulfills its mission and overall objectives.
  • Human Resources & Training - Interns may support projects related to Training, Onboarding, Employee Engagement, Performance Development, Human Capital Strategy and/or Policy. The Office of Human Capital (OHC) promotes AmeriCorps' overall business strategy and mission by providing for a workforce of the highest quality - one that is customer oriented, competent, motivated, empowered, accountable, culturally diverse, and committed to partnership and teamwork.
  • Auditing & Financial Management - The Office of Audit and Debt Resolution (ADR) is responsible for authoritative advice and assisting in performing financial systems reviews; development of indirect cost rates and cost allocation determinations; audit resolution issues; risk assessments; disallowed costs and debt management; and development and updating of agency financial policies and grant management procedures relating to audit resolution, indirect cost rate, and compliance.

In addition to focusing on your particular area/interest of choice, the AmeriCorps Intern provides administrative and technical support to programs and/or department staff. General responsibilities include:
  • Conducts research, analyzes data and information from a variety of sources, and communicates results orally and in writing
  • Prepares a variety of written documents such as meeting minutes, correspondence, research papers, reports, Power Point presentations, and other deliverables as needed
  • Researches and gathers documentation as requested
  • Establishes and maintains office records of various types
  • Purges and disposes of records and files in accordance with established procedures
  • Provides administrative support to the office and ongoing initiatives or projects
  • Inputs information, data, and records into databases
  • Collaborates with team members to support the business objectives of the office
