Corporate Intern - Digital Marketing Strategy

First Citizen’s Bank offers an exciting summer internship program that provides development opportunities and hands on work experience while creating a talent pipeline for the Bank. Our interns will apply classroom knowledge in a corporate environment while making a positive impact across the organization and the communities we serve. There are three (3) opportunities to join the Digital Marketing Strategy team as an intern for our 2022 summer session. One (1) intern focusing on .com experience, one (1) intern focusing on digital marketing, and one (1) student focusing on design.
 
As an intern on our Digital Marketing Strategy team, a student can expect the following:
* To lead on research related project (s); analyzing competitive analysis, market research, user and banker feedback in order to present findings to senior management.
* Assist with requirements gathering various digital marketing strategy projects or initiatives, eliciting and documenting features and functionality.
* Assist with user acceptance testing (UAT) on initiatives to ensure issues are tracked and reported.
* Participate in daily team meetings; collaborate cross-functionally within department and other Bank stakeholders.
 
In addition, an intern with First Citizens Bank will be given the following opportunities:
  • Assigned a manager who can help guide them through the program on a daily basis.
  • Assignment of a mentor to facilitate a broader view of the Strategy Office.
  • Participation in unique banking related training events.
  • Involvement in meetings, training sessions, networking and teambuilding events.
  • A project designed to improve a defined process within the Strategy Office will be assigned to each Intern to plan and execute during the internship.
  • A wrap-up presentation will be prepared by the Interns to be shared with the Chief Strategy Officer and other key leaders in the company to outline their accomplishments and experience during the internship.
To be considered a strong candidate for the Digital Marketing Strategy Internship, a student will have experience in or possess the following:
* Skilled in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Strong communication and presentation skills
* Thorough and focused attention to detail
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Ability to work on quantitative and analytical tasks
* Strong time management skills
* Demonstrable ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team setting
* A good balance of confidence and humility

Responsibilities
  • While a majority of the principal accountabilities are assigned by the intern's direct manager, there is a determined effort across the Bank to make each intern a dynamic part of the team with interesting projects. Accountabilities can and may include areas such as research, analytics, projects, strategy, process review and improvement, as well as technology enhancements and support.
  • Each intern will be assigned a project which will be designed to improve a specific process. A wrap-up presentation will be prepared by the Interns to be shared with the division leader and other key stakeholders in the company to outline their accomplishments and experience during the internship.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Enrolled (during the time of the summer program) as a rising Junior, Senior, or Master's Program at an accredited four year institution, majoring in Business, Finance, Data Science, or Mathematics
Required Qualifications:
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the duration of the program

  • 3.0 minimum GPA

  • Experience writing & editing promotional/marketing copy
  • Ability to translate messages into clear, succinct copy that drives the reader to take action
  • Digital marketing knowledge desired
  • Comfortable using/learning marketing automation—in particular, email marketing (Acoustic)
