Communications Internship

We remake homeless shelter and crisis center rooms in central North Carolina for hundreds of people every year. Accordingly, we have hundreds of stories to share about our work, our shelter partners, our donors, and the residents we serve. A Lotta Love is currently 100% volunteer-based and since our main focus is on the shelters we serve, additional help for marketing and communications is needed.

This internship is based on the skills you want to share and develop. You will be asked to contribute to our social media -- our current postings on Facebook/Instagram as well as creating a presence on LinkedIn and possibly others. Beyond social media, you could help build our research documentation, do pr & outreach for shelter partners/donors/foundations, create video or written content, or give us your idea for communications work that would help us get the word out about our work.

Applicants must be able to work remotely and have access to Zoom and/or FaceTime. When applying, we ask that you present a general project idea or context for this internship -- we want to know what you would like to accomplish whether it's a capstone project, a work/study experience, or if it relates your preferred profession.

If you'd like to join a project at a shelter or crisis-center in Durham, Raleigh, Charlotte, or Wake Forest, access to transportation is needed. You must provide proof of vaccination to participate in any on-site events.
