Beautyocracy is a platform where women of color discover and shop beauty, together. We see people of color as the future of beauty. We envision a world where anyone — no what their skin tone or hair type — can open up an app, engage with products and content perfectly tailored to their identity, experiences, and preferences, then easily shop what they love. We recognize indie beauty as the new wave of top-tier brands and we’re crafting a space for them thrive. On our app, users will be able to shop the shelves of similar users, discover new brands in a hyper-personalized feed, and bond over beauty topics in niche channels with other community members.
We’re backed by Visible Hands VC and crazy passionate about inclusive beauty. Our founder is a Stanford MBA and our team hails from powerhouses in the beauty space including Estée Lauder, MAC and The Detox Market.

Who You Are
We’re looking for creative minds who enjoying making video content. As a part of Beautyocracy, you’ll work alongside our content team to create engaging and valuable beauty-related content for our app as well as grow our TikTok presence. You’ll take projects from conception through execution and deliver videos that are original, relatable, fun, all while incorporating skincare education and our mission of better product discovery. Since teamwork makes the dream work, you’ll collaborate closely with other Beautyocracy creators, sharing ideas, inspiration, and best practices as you create ready-to-post videos.
This is a freelance role and is open to current or aspiring content creators. Compensation is per video created and hourly for team meetings, with bonuses for successful results (tied to views and likes). Candidates must be able to demonstrate previous work (show us your TikTok or IG page!) that proves their skill set.
What You'll Do
- Be one of the faces of Beautyocracy's TikTok page.
- With support from the Beautyocracy content team, bring your ideas to life by creating, filming, and editing ready-to-post videos for our app and social media.
- Adapt to data and insights shared with you by our content team.
- Collaborate and share ideas, inspiration, and best practices with our content team.
What You'll Need
- A creative and engaging personality.
- A great understanding of TikTok, including how to: film, edit, and use TikTok features.
- Knowledge of the trends and popular "sounds" being used throughout TikTok.
- The ability to give and receive feedback thoughtfully and easily.
- Be fun to work with, and willing to collaborate with others.
- Have strong video editing experience and be capable of quick turnarounds, with multiple projects on your plate at any given moment.
- Be driven. We’re a small team and growing quickly. We all wear multiple hats. We take joy in our work and pride in our mission and care deeply about building a better beauty destination for women of color.
