2022 Summer Associate Program
General Program Description: The Summer Associate Program is designed to develop young talent as well as identify top candidates for Upshot’s various full-time roles and positions where the students are not real estate and/or finance undergraduate majors. Interested Summer Associate candidates may apply to different areas of Upshot’s private equity real estate platform, such as legal and compliance, IT, marketing, accounting, human resources, construction, and property management.
Job Description: The Summer Associate Program at Upshot seeks to offer a challenging experience to college juniors, graduate students or law school students who are interested in careers in legal and compliance, IT, marketing, accounting, human resources, construction, and property management. This program offers hands-on experience in such areas, where the Summer Associate will have direct exposure to senior-level management, engaging mentors, development opportunities and targeted training to help sharpen technical, analytical, writing and communication skills. At the end of the program, Summer Associates are expected to give a presentation on a topic related to their experience.
Candidate Qualifications: Upshot seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, mature, intelligent, and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition to strong analytical and communication skills, the successful candidate should have or be:
- Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in a discipline directly related to the area being applied for, or a law degree, all with a strong GPA
- Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to write effectively
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Self-starter, highly organized, and detail-oriented
- Ability to be a collaborative team player
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Ability to adapt to new challenges in a dynamic and fast paced environment while handling multiple projects
- A strong work ethic, personal and professional integrity, a positive attitude, and genuine passion for excellence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
To be considered for the 2022 Summer Associate Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be currently enrolled in an appropriate undergraduate or graduate program, or be a law student at an ABA accredited law school
- For undergraduate students only: Have an anticipated graduation date: Fall 2022 – Spring 2023
- For graduate and law students only: Have completed their first year of the graduate or law school program.
- Resume must include expected graduation month/year and GPA
- Resume must be in PDF format
- Prepare and submit the Internship Program Applications and submit all required documentation per its instructions.
