Layer 7’s advisory services include buy-side and sell-side M&A, strategic planning, valuation analysis and debt capital placement for sector companies and their current and potential investors.
 
In addition to advisory services, Layer 7 partners with companies and their management teams through principal investments alongside a financial sponsor or on a standalone basis. We have significant experience serving on the boards of both public and private companies.

Job Description:
Layer 7 is seeking an Analyst for immediate start. The employment would be structured as an intern-to-hire, with an eight-week paid internship that would lead to potential immediate full-time employment.
 
An Analyst with Layer 7 is responsible for the following:
 
  • Extensive financial modeling of various transaction scenarios
  • Valuation analysis including public comparables, M&A comparables, DCFs and LBOs
  • Preparation of pitch materials for clients
  • Assisting in the development of transactional strategies
  • Extensive interaction with the senior management of the firm, client representatives and counterparties
 
Requirements:
  • Excellent academic background, with a strong preference for top-tier schools and grades
  • Prior investment banking or accounting experience a plus
  • Strong work ethic, leadership, quantitative, teamwork and communication skills
  • A desire to be part of a small, entrepreneurial firm, and the ability to learn complex concepts quickly without formal instruction
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
