Project Engineer - Transmission and Driveline Calibrator
Job Summary:
Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for a Project Engineer - Transmission and Driveline Calibrator. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
As a Calibration Engineer, you will primarily be responsible for conducting vehicle-based evaluations and calibration of transmission and driveline systems.
  • The Project Engineer may have some work onsite at customer facilities supporting ongoing development programs, as well as potential participation in test trips.
  • Supporting a variety of aspects of transmission and driveline calibration development.
  • Collaborating with our clients and conduct projects with a high level of professionalism while meeting and/or exceeding our clients' technical and timing expectations within the predefined project budget limits.
  • Planning experiments, setup and data acquisition, analyzing and interpreting results to guide future tests, and preparing presentations/reports.
  • Hands-on aptitudes/interest with strong attention to detail and desire/ability to understand test results calibration changes and according to documentation is key.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
What You Will Need:
Basics:
  • BSME or BSEE minimum required.
  • 2+ years' experience of powertrain and drivetrain systems (engines, transmissions, axles).
  • Will consider candidates with SAE experience.
  • Vehicle & driveline testing and calibration.
  • Working knowledge of all types of transmissions.
  • Clutch pressure calibration.
  • Experience in transmission diagnostics.
  • MATLAB and Simulink experience.
  • Data acquisition equipment HW/SW such as ETAS INCA, ATI Vision, CANape, CANalyzer, etc.
  • Lead testing/calibration projects and provide direction to less experienced engineers as well as technicians/fabricators.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Project).
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
