NASA Technology Transfer to Universities

The MUREP intern will work with GRC’s T2X team. Duties will include:
T2U Support – The intern will identify candidate universities for NASA ‘s T2U program; use on-line and personal contacts to track down professors who may be interested; send emails and make phone calls to reach such professors and share introductory information with them. The intern can—either on their own or in partnership with T2X staff—also kick off the T2U activity with professors who wish to proceed. GRC T2X staff, along with the intern, will participate in the finale to the activity (typically student presentations). During calls, the intern will also introduce the MITTIC program to T2U professors. Existing information on both the T2U program and the MITTIC programs will be provided.

T2X Support – The intern will support T2X staff in assessing new entrepreneurial ecosystems by identifying support organizations and players within a region via on-line research, and organizing that information for presentation to T2X staff. The intern will participate in calls to identified ecosystem organizations and players with T2X staff. The intern will also support activities with existing ecosystem partners, for example by coordinating meeting attendance and supporting logistics for meetings, or by conducting on-line analysis of individual companies within an ecosystem partner’s membership. The intern will attend T2X events.

Eligibility requirements:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Full-time students (high school through graduate)
  • Enrollment in a degree granting institution
  • 16 years of age at the time of application (no exceptions)
