Quality Engineering Summer 2023 Intern – Undergraduate

  • Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Designs or specifies inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
  • Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.

Internships are full-time (40 hours/week), paid positions that are 11-12 weeks in length. We offer competitive pay, housing assistance (for out-of-state interns) with relocation expense reimbursement, a transportation stipend, and educational and social events throughout the summer. We have summer internship opportunities across the U.S., including positions in Minnesota, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Arizona, Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Florida.

Must Haves:
To be considered for a summer 2023 engineering internship, you must meet the following basic requirements. How you meet these criteria must be clearly indicated on your resume to be considered for a position.
  • Bachelor’s degree student with a sophomore or junior level class standing
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree in an engineering major
  • A minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and does not require sponsorship in the future for an employment visa
  • Participants must be able to participate full time (40 hours/week) as part of our intern cohort:
  • Monday, June 5 - Friday, August 18
 
Nice to Haves:
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following technologies: C, C++, C#/, Java, Python, CAD:SolidWorks/Autocad or equivalent, Microsoft Visual Studio, MATLAB
  • Prior work on projects in a team environment preferred
  • Relevant academic projects, internship or lab experience preferred
  • Technical writing skills
  • FEMA knowledge
  • Experience with statistics and data analysis. Team player, who is self-motivated, proactive, willing to learn, and a problem solver
